Tomato Bellioso

Reliable plum tomato hybrid for professional production

Bellioso by Rijk Zwaan is a strategic choice for growers focused on marketability and consistent yields. This hybrid is optimized for intensive cultivation where uniformity is key. With an average fruit weight of 100–150 grams and a classic plum shape, Bellioso fits perfectly into standard packaging requirements, making it a high-demand product for both wholesalers and retail chains.

Agronomic resilience and disease protection

A major advantage of Bellioso in the field or greenhouse is its built-in immunity to common pathogens, which significantly reduces the need for frequent fungicide applications. By choosing this hybrid, farmers mitigate risks associated with the following:

• Total resistance to Verticillium and Fusarium wilt.
• Protection against Tomato Mosaic Virus and Leaf Mold (Cladosporium).
• Added resistance to Powdery Mildew and various rot complexes.

This strong phytosanitary profile allows growers to focus their resources on crop management rather than constant disease mitigation. The vibrant red color and firm skin texture ensure that the produce maintains its quality during long-distance logistics.

Practical application in agriculture

Bellioso performs exceptionally well in both open and protected ground. The firmness of the fruit allows for mechanical or semi-mechanical harvesting without risking excessive damage to the yield. It is highly valued by growers specializing in fresh market supply and whole-peel canning, as the fruits ripen uniformly and detach easily from the stem. It is a reliable workhorse for any professional farming operation looking for a stable plum tomato variety.
