Tomato Bellioso

Large-fruited efficiency with Bellioso

The «Bellioso» tomato, developed by the Dutch breeding powerhouse Rijk Zwaan, is engineered for growers who prioritize reliability and high output. As a determinate variety, it fits perfectly into production systems requiring manageable plant height and reduced manual labor during the growth cycle.

Agronomic Advantages

When selecting seeds for commercial production, consistency is paramount. Bellioso delivers fruits consistently weighing over 200 grams, meeting the top-tier size requirements for the fresh produce market. The 90–100 day maturity window allows for efficient farm planning and scheduling. A major tactical advantage is the plant's built-in resistance to Verticillium wilt. This genetic defense reduces the reliance on intensive fungicide applications, ensuring a cleaner crop and safer soil conditions for subsequent rotations.

Operational Performance

• Post-Harvest Logistics: One of Bellioso's strongest attributes is its excellent transportability. The firm skin and solid internal structure ensure that fruit reaches the end consumer in pristine condition, even after long-distance shipping.
• Uniformity: The uniform, round shape of the tomatoes simplifies the grading and packing process, allowing for faster processing times in the packing house.
• Market Versatility: With its classic red color and attractive appearance, Bellioso is highly sought after by supermarkets and retailers looking for high-quality, large-caliber tomatoes.

By integrating Rijk Zwaan's Bellioso into your production cycle, you choose a variety that balances robust disease resistance with the heavy yield metrics required to maintain a profitable farming operation.
