Tomato Amber Giant

Market potential of the 'Yantarnyi Bogatyr' variety

For professional growers focusing on fresh market produce, 'Yantarnyi Bogatyr' is a reliable asset. With a maturity period of 100–120 days, this indeterminate tomato fits perfectly into mid-season crop rotations. While it requires trellis support and consistent pruning, the return on investment is evident in the quality of the harvest. The flat-round fruits, weighing 150–200 grams, are perfectly suited for standard wholesale packaging, minimizing damage during transit.

Practical application and agronomic management

• Efficiency in harvesting: The variety is noted for its flesh density, which prevents cracking—a crucial factor when growing in greenhouse environments where humidity levels fluctuate.
• Marketing advantage: Its vibrant orange color acts as a differentiator. In a retail environment filled with red tomatoes, this color profile allows growers to command a higher price point for premium, eye-catching produce.
• Crop management: To achieve maximum fruit size and consistent appearance, the plant should be pruned to 1-2 stems. It responds exceptionally well to potassium-based fertilization, which enhances the iconic amber hue and internal structure.

We recommend this hybrid for spring-summer cycles. It is a predictable performer that thrives under standard intensive management practices, providing a stable yield of high-quality, uniform tomatoes that appeal to both retailers and consumers.
