Britanica — a medium-maturing indeterminate tomato hybrid intended for cultivation in glass and plastic greenhouses, including extended and second crops. Time from emergence to the start of ripening is 100–110 days. Plants are characterized by strong, balanced growth and a robust, well-regenerating root system, ensuring their resilience and high productivity. Leaves vary from medium to large size, have an intense green color, and are horizontally oriented from the middle of the plant. The first flower cluster forms above the 10th–11th leaf, subsequent clusters appear every three leaves, clusters are simple and sturdy, bearing 6–9 fruits.
The fruits of the Britanica hybrid are round, uniform, and sturdy both in clusters and throughout the plant. In the technical ripening stage, they are green without spots at the base, and upon biological ripening, they acquire a rich yellow color, turning orange upon overripening. The average fruit weight is 180–200 grams. Fruits do not soften upon overripening and retain high flavor and transport qualities for an extended period, making them convenient for harvesting in clusters and for sale on 'underlay'.
The hybrid exhibits high resistance to major tomato diseases, such as tomato mosaic virus, fusarium, and cladosporiosis. These traits, along with balanced plant development and superior fruit quality, make Britanica an excellent choice for greenhouse cultivation aimed at achieving a stable and high-quality harvest.
