Sweet pea LISETTE

Growth Architecture: 'Lizetta' Variety Parameters

The 'Lizetta' sweet pea variety is a result of breeding efforts by the Federal Scientific Center for Vegetable Growing. Unlike dwarf decorative alternatives, this variety is optimized for vertical gardening. The plant's genetic potential allows it to reach a height of up to 250 cm, necessitating specific agricultural practices: sturdy trellises or mesh fences are required for optimal vine development.

Biological Traits and Habit

The core focus in the selection of 'Lizetta' was a balance between aesthetic appeal and vine vigor.

• Color Palette: soft pink shades of inflorescences that maintain their saturation throughout the entire flowering period.
• Aromatic Profile: moderate fragrance intensity, allowing the plant to be placed near recreational areas without the risk of an overpowering scent.
• Growth Type: indeterminate, requiring regular pruning and training.

Engineering Approach to Vertical Landscaping

In practical terms, the 2.5-meter height makes 'Lizetta' a tool for creating hedges and decorating arbors. The tall habit requires reliable support: without structural backing, stems may sprawl, leading to overcrowded planting and reduced air circulation. From an agronomic perspective, this variety thrives in open, sunny locations with well-drained soils. The moderate fragrance, combined with the pink color scheme, offers a balanced solution for landscape design, where the priority is the aesthetics of vertical planes without excessive scent.
