Sweet Corn RUBIKON

Efficiency in Silage Production: Snowy River Seeds «Rubikon»

In the field of forage crops, selecting a hybrid that balances total green mass with high nutritional value is crucial. «Rubikon» by Snowy River Seeds is a specialized silage hybrid designed for livestock operations that demand reliability and high biomass yield. With a plant height of 240–250 cm and a ear placement at 90–100 cm, this hybrid is engineered for efficient mechanical harvesting, ensuring that the maximum amount of energy-rich material ends up in the silo.

Field Performance and Pest Resistance

The standout feature of «Rubikon» is its intrinsic genetic resistance profile. By building in resistance to the European corn borer, Snowy River Seeds has provided producers with a tool to minimize crop damage and reduce the need for aggressive insecticide programs. Furthermore, the hybrid's strong resistance to Fusarium makes it an ideal choice for farmers prioritizing safety in silage, as mitigating fungal development is essential for maintaining herd health and feed quality throughout the storage period.

Agronomic Versatility

Adaptability is the hallmark of the «Rubikon» hybrid. With a recommended plant density ranging from 35,000 to 75,000 plants per hectare, it offers a versatile solution for varying soil conditions and moisture profiles. Whether managed under intensive inputs or optimized for regional environments, «Rubikon» consistently converts sunlight and nutrients into high-quality fodder. It is a stable, mature choice for agricultural businesses focused on consistent forage availability and sustainable farming practices.
