Sweet Corn LS 899

LS 899 is a mid-season hybrid of super-sweet sugar corn type SH-2, developed by Lucky Seed. The maturation period is 83-85 days, allowing for harvest at optimal times. Plants reach a height of 2-2.1 meters and form large ears 23-25 cm long and about 5 cm in diameter. Each ear contains 16-18 rows of large yellow kernels, with an average ear weight of 350-400 grams.

This hybrid is characterized by high resistance to lodging and retains its excellent taste and sweetness for a long time after maturity. During the development stage from 3 to 6 leaves, plants show resistance to the herbicide Master Power at a rate of 1.25 L/ha. The recommended planting density is 50-55 thousand plants per hectare, which promotes optimal growth and maximum yield.

LS 899 is intended for cultivation in open ground, especially well-suited to light, fertile, and well-drained sandy loam soils. Corn is not picky about soil type, but responds best to organic and mineral fertilizers. For successful cultivation, it is important to avoid early or late sowing and ensure adequate moisture, particularly during flowering, when the plant experiences peak water demand.
