Sweet Corn Honey Bantam 83

Honey Bantam 83 — a mid-season super-sweet sh2 type sweet corn hybrid developed by the Japanese company Sakata. The maturation period is approximately 83 days after emergence. The plant reaches an average height of 170-180 cm, with a strong stalk that ensures good resistance to lodging in windy weather. The hybrid is adaptable to growing conditions, but poorly tolerates overcrowded plantings. With good nutrition, it can form up to four ears, but it is optimal to leave two for better quality yield. The Honey Bantam 83 corn ears have a cylindrical shape, length of 25-27 cm, and weight up to 400 g. They are characterized by uniformity and dense kernel filling to the very top. The kernels are bright golden, shiny, tender, and very sweet, arranged in 14-16 rows, closely adjacent to each other. Due to these characteristics, the ears have high flavor qualities, making the hybrid ideal for fresh consumption, as well as processing and canning. Honey Bantam 83 corn is intended for cultivation in open ground and is suitable for sale in markets and supermarkets due to its high quality and attractive appearance of the fruits. The hybrid is resistant to various climatic conditions, expanding its cultivation possibilities. This variety combines high yield, excellent taste, and ease of use, making it popular among farmers and consumers.
