Sunflower IA 1169 DMR

Genetic Architecture and Crop Protection

The French breeding expertise of Limagrain, applied in the 'IA 1169 DMR' model, prioritizes compactness and controlled resilience. This simple sunflower hybrid, originating from Nidera, serves as a precise tool for farms where predictable crop development under challenging pathogenic pressure is critical.

Morphological Features and Field Height

A plant height ranging from 120 to 130 cm is a significant factor for efficient combine harvesting logistics. With these dimensions, the hybrid exhibits high lodging resistance, minimizing grain losses during mechanical harvesting. The grey-striped seed coat indicates a classic genetic type, adapted for stable oil content performance.

Phytosanitary Barrier

The technical value of 'IA 1169 DMR' lies in its distinct immunity against key pathogens that limit yield:

• Downy Mildew (Peronospora): integrated genetic resistance factors allow for reduced fungicide application during early growth stages.
• Phomopsis and Phoma: the dense stem structure and resistance to necrosis ensure healthy head maturation even under the high humidity conditions often encountered in late summer.

The integration of Nidera's developments into the Limagrain portfolio has resulted in a hybrid that optimizes soil potential, concentrating growth energy not on excessive vegetative mass, but on the formation of well-filled heads.
