TORERO — this is a mid-early hybrid sunflower of new genetics, developed for semi-intensive cultivation technologies. It is distinguished by high productivity and yield stability even under drought and other stress conditions. The hybrid's vegetation period is approximately 108-114 days, and plant height varies from 160 to 180 cm, ensuring optimal growth and ease of harvesting. The hybrid demonstrates rapid early growth and simultaneous maturity, contributing to high technological efficiency and resistance to lodging.
One of the key features of TORERO is its high resistance to diseases, including the latest races of downy mildew and rust (races A-F+), as well as to flea beetles (races A-E). The hybrid is well-adapted to poor soils and can withstand prolonged dry periods both in soil and air, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in the Forest-Steppe and Steppe regions of Ukraine. The Clearfield technology enables effective weed control, enhancing overall crop productivity.
TORERO is characterized by high oil content in seeds — from 49% to 51% — making it attractive for the oilseed industry. Plant density at harvest time is 50–55 thousand plants per hectare, which contributes to achieving a potential yield of up to 53 centners per hectare. The 1000-seed mass ranges from 67–75 grams, indicating good seed quality. Due to its characteristics, the TORERO hybrid is an effective and reliable solution for farmers aiming to achieve high and stable sunflower yields.
