Sunflower Solexis

Reliable Yields with Spanish Genetics

The "Solexis" hybrid from Hibrisol S.L. is a prime example of a crop that pays for itself through sheer survivability. In the field, the 140-150 cm height provides uniform crop development, which significantly eases harvesting operations for the combine operator.

Field Performance and Disease Resistance

The most noticeable advantage is the plant's natural immune system. In high-humidity seasons, when the threat of phomopsis or rust is critical, this hybrid remains sturdy. Its resistance to charcoal rot ensures the stems stay intact until the harvest, minimizing field losses. Key advantages for the grower:

• A 100-110 day vegetation period allows for precise harvest scheduling, avoiding late-season rains.
• A high oil content of 50-55% ensures favorable prices at the crushing plant.
• Natural resistance to powdery mildew helps reduce the need for excessive fungicide applications.

Managing a Solexis field is straightforward. Due to its moderate height, the plant is highly resistant to lodging, even in windy conditions. The uniform maturation of the sunflower heads simplifies combine settings, and the efficient dry-down of the seeds reduces fuel consumption during the threshing process. It is a predictable, low-maintenance choice that consistently yields well.
