Sunflower SA 5739 R

Reliable Performance in Weed-Infested Fields

For farmers dealing with challenging fields, the «SA 5739 R» sunflower hybrid from Nuseed Europe is a straightforward and effective solution. The standout feature is its built-in resistance to imidazolinone herbicides (Clearfield/Euro-Lightning technology). In practical terms, this allows for a clean harvest even in fields with heavy broomrape pressure or severe weed competition, which is a major advantage for complex crop rotations.

Field Operation and Management

Operating this hybrid is remarkably simple. Since the genetic resistance is embedded into the seed, it eliminates the need for complex, multi-stage tank mixes. Operators report that the crop recovers quickly after herbicide application, showing no signs of stunted growth or stress, which is often a concern with less robust hybrids.

• Herbicide Tolerance: Seamless integration with Euro-Lightning chemistry ensures optimal weed control in one pass.
• Harvest Efficiency: The stalks remain sturdy throughout the growing season, significantly reducing lodging risks and making the combine operator's job much easier at harvest time.
• Yield Potential: When provided with the right planting density, the hybrid shows excellent head development and uniform maturity.

Choosing SA 5739 R is essentially about choosing operational simplicity. By delegating the weed control task to the genetic traits of the plant, the grower saves both time and financial resources, while the consistent performance makes harvest logistics easier to manage. It is a workhorse hybrid that delivers what it promises: stability, cleanliness, and a predictable end result.
