Description RUSTICA 223
RUSTICA 223 is a mid-early hybrid sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) intended for cultivation in various regions, including the Middle Volga and Lower Volga. The vegetation period is approximately 100-122 days, with early flowering. Plants are characterized by green leaves and yellow disc flowers. Plant height varies from low to high depending on the growing region, with no branching and medium leaf pubescence. Seeds have an extra-fraction with weak marginal stripes.

The RUSTICA 223 hybrid is distinguished by high yield and oil content. In the Middle Volga region, average yield reaches 28.4 c/ha, maximum — 40.6 c/ha, with oil content around 51.3% and oil harvest up to 17.1 c/ha. In the Forest Steppe and Polесьe regions, yield is 4.0-4.6 t/ha with oil content of 48-50%. The hybrid belongs to the linoleic type and exhibits strong initial growth vigor.

A distinctive feature of RUSTICA 223 is its high resistance to diseases, including basket sclerotinia, rust, and verticillium, as well as resistance to the sunflower moth (strains A-G). The hybrid is grown using the Clearfield Plus technology with fungicide and insecticide treatments, providing additional protection and stable yield. Recommended for intensive cultivation conditions, making it an attractive choice for modern farmers.
