A mid-season oilseed hybrid of Ukrainian breeding, adapted for stable yields in the Forest-Steppe zone.
Description
New Generation Ukrainian Breeding
The sunflower hybrid "Reni SU" is a product of domestic breeding, officially entered into the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine in 2026. The developer and rights holder of this hybrid is the private enterprise "NASINNEVE", which focused on adaptability to the climatic conditions of the Forest-Steppe zone. Unlike many imported counterparts, "Reni SU" was created taking into account the specifics of Ukrainian soils and temperature regimes, allowing it to consistently realize its potential in areas with moderate moisture.
Morphological Features and Development
The hybrid is based on classic F1 genetics, oriented toward oil production. The plant is characterized by its tall stature and large head, which turns downward during ripening, protecting the seeds from precipitation and birds. A key feature is the absence of branching, which ensures uniform crop maturation and facilitates the harvesting process.
- Vegetation period: mid-season group, optimally balanced for high oil yield.
- Appearance: moderately green, medium-sized leaves with characteristic slight blistering.
- Flowering: mid-season, orange-yellow ray florets; the presence of pollen in tubular florets ensures high-quality pollination.
"Reni SU" demonstrates stress resistance embedded at the genetic level. The weak intensity of anthocyanin coloration of the hypocotyl and moderate pubescence of the stem apex indicate good seedling viability. Thanks to its morphology—a straight stem and a large head—the hybrid shows excellent results under intensive cultivation technologies in the Forest-Steppe zone of Ukraine.

Dual-purpose hybrids: for silage and grain in all growing regions. These are "stay-green" type hybrids, meaning the plants remain green for a longer period. However, this does not affect the sugar, cellulose, and hemicellulose content, nor the degree of lignification of the plant... |
