Sunflower PS 219

Field Performance of PS 219 Sunflower

When selecting seeds for fields with variable climate conditions, the PS 219 sunflower hybrid from Ooo Aktiv Agro is a reliable choice for any farm. From an operator's perspective, the primary benefit is predictability: the seeds show uniform emergence even when moisture levels are suboptimal, which is essential for a strong start to the season.

Agronomic Management and Harvesting

One of the key features of this hybrid is its uniformity in plant height. In practice, this means less time spent adjusting the combine settings during harvest, leading to smoother operations and reduced seed loss. The stalks are robust and show excellent resistance to lodging, even during high wind events late in the season. Thanks to the work of the originators, Vitaly Grigoryan and Marianna Sharygina, the hybrid is well-adapted to standard field conditions, allowing for efficient management without excessive input costs.

• Consistency: PS 219 does not shed easily during over-ripening, providing a buffer if harvesting is slightly delayed.
• Mechanical Efficiency: The size and structure of the sunflower heads are well-suited for standard threshing drums, minimizing grain damage.
• Fertilizer Response: The plant is responsive to nitrogen, channeling energy effectively into seed fill rather than excessive vegetative growth.

If you are looking for a crop that fits into your rotation without requiring overly complex management, yet consistently delivers on yield, PS 219 is a solid solution. It is a straightforward, reliable hybrid that meets the practical needs of modern field farming.
