Pesma

The hybrid sunflower PESMA is a Ukrainian selection intended for oil production. The plants reach an average height of 150-170 cm, have dark green heart-shaped medium-sized leaves. The inflorescence (head) is semi-downward-facing and medium-sized. The weight of 1000 seeds ranges from 55 to 70 grams. PESMA is a early-maturing hybrid with a vegetation period of 103 to 110 days, making it suitable for cultivation in forest-steppe and steppe zones of Ukraine. The hybrid is characterized by high drought resistance and genetically determined resistance to the most dangerous diseases, such as the 6th strain virus and false powdery mildew. Thanks to its unique combination of drought tolerance and adaptation to soil-climatic conditions of Ukraine, PESMA demonstrates high genetic yield potential. The average seed yield in variety trials amounted to 30 centners/ha in steppe and 29.2 centners/ha in forest-steppe, exceeding standard yields by 4.7 and 5.1 centners/ha respectively, with maximum yields reaching up to 40.5 centners/ha. The sunflower PESMA is widely used on both large and small areas due to its high oil content — oil content in seeds reaches 52%. This hybrid is not only high-yielding but also resistant to diseases and adverse conditions, ensuring a stable and high-quality harvest. It is an optimal choice for producers focused on efficient sunflower oil production in various climatic zones of Ukraine.
