M98CL88 is a medium-early sunflower hybrid developed by the Turkish agricultural company MAY Seed. It is characterized by high stability and high yield potential, reaching up to 40 centners per hectare. The vegetative period of the hybrid is 100–110 days, with the interval from emergence to flowering taking 58–63 days. Plants reach a height of 150–165 cm, have a strong stem and a well-developed root system. The sunflower head is distinctly prominent, convex, and fully downward-facing, which facilitates efficient harvest.

The M98CL88 hybrid is intended for industrial oilseed use and features high oil content in seeds — from 48% to 52%. It exhibits high resistance to races of false powdery mildew and downy mildew, as well as resistance to lodging and various stress factors.
