Michel sunflower is a modern, high-yielding hybrid of Italian selection, adapted for cultivation in Ukraine using the Clearfield (Eurolighting) technology. This mid-early hybrid with a vegetative period of about 108 days is characterized by high productivity and plasticity, ensuring a stable yield even under adverse climatic conditions. Plants reach a height of up to 170 cm, have a strong root system and uniform structure, which promotes good development and resilience.
The Michel hybrid has a high oil content in seeds — 54%, and its yield potential is 56-59 centners per hectare. Seeds are treated with Maxim XL and have a standard fraction. A distinctive feature of the hybrid is its high resistance to drought and cold, rated 8-9 points, as well as high resistance to lodging. Moreover, Michel demonstrates resistance to major sunflower diseases such as phomopsis, phomosis, sclerotinia, downy mildew, and rust (up to 5 races), significantly reducing the risk of yield loss.
The Michel hybrid is resistant to imidazolinone herbicides (e.g., Devais Ultra), which simplifies weed control. The recommended planting density varies by region: 75-80 thousand plants per hectare for Polissia, 55-60 thousand for Steppe, and 65-70 thousand for Forest Steppe. Thanks to its characteristics and adaptability, the Michel sunflower is an excellent choice for agricultural production, providing high productivity and quality oilseed raw material.
