Description Meduza
The MEDUSA sunflower hybrid is a product of French selection, registered in the Ukrainian Plant Variety Register in 2019. This hybrid is distinguished by high resistance to race G of downy mildew, making it especially valuable for cultivation on areas affected by this disease. MEDUSA belongs to the linoleic sunflower type and is characterized by a medium-early maturity group with medium-late flowering. Plants have low stature, slightly convex flower heads with a leaning orientation, which promotes optimal development and harvest. The MEDUSA hybrid demonstrates excellent productivity even under adverse conditions, as confirmed by its agronomic performance. The recommended seeding rate is 50–55 thousand plants per hectare under adverse conditions and 60–65 thousand under favorable conditions. The initial growth rating of the hybrid is 8 points, resistance to lodging is 9, and resistance to diseases such as formopsis and sclerotinia (heads and stems) ranges from 7 to 8 points. These characteristics ensure stable and reliable yields. MEDUSA is suitable for use as seed material due to its high adaptability and disease resistance. Its medium-early maturity and morphological features make the hybrid convenient for agronomic practices and harvest. Thanks to the combination of resistance to downy mildew and good productivity under adverse conditions, MEDUSA is a profitable choice for farmers aiming to obtain high-quality and stable sunflower yields.
