NKBRIO is a mid-season classic sunflower hybrid developed by Syngenta, distinguished by its high yield and stability. It belongs to the linoleic type and is one of the most popular hybrids in the world. In the early stages of development, the plant grows slowly, yet it matures earlier than all other hybrids in its mid-season group. To achieve maximum yield potential, it is recommended to apply intensive cultivation technology, including quality crop protection using fungicides and insecticides, as well as soil herbicides during the initial stages of vegetation. Seeds are treated with Cruiser, providing additional protection against pests.
The NKBRIO hybrid has a high yield potential that can reach 5.2 t/ha, and depending on cultivation technology and weather conditions, yield ranges from 39 to 50.5 c/ha. Seed oil content reaches 52%, making this sunflower attractive for oil producers. The plant demonstrates a moderate level of drought and disease resistance, such as Phoma, Phomopsis, and white rot, as well as high resistance to downy mildew (up to 7 races). For disease prevention, fungicides are recommended.
NKBRIO is recommended for cultivation in the Central and Northern Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polesie regions of Ukraine. The optimal sowing density at harvest time is no more than 60 thousand plants per hectare or 4.2-4.5 plants per linear meter. Due to its characteristics and stable yield, this hybrid receives positive reviews from farmers and agro-holdings, ensuring a reliable and quality harvest.
