Sunflower 1563/1-1 is a high-tech confectionery-type hybrid developed using nanotechnology by the Canadian holding SERTIS HOLDING GROUP in 2021. This hybrid is characterized by high drought resistance, confirmed by tests under various climatic conditions, including countries with extremely high temperatures up to +60°C. The plant features a strong, thick, upright stem up to 2.1 meters tall, as well as a deep root system penetrating the soil to a depth of up to 3 meters. Leaves are large, and heads reach a diameter of 50 cm, ensuring high productivity and resilience to adverse weather conditions such as hurricane winds, hail, and heavy rains. Hybrid 1563/1-1 possesses unique genetic traits that ensure resistance to diseases and pests. Transformed genes have been integrated into its DNA, enhancing resistance to major sunflower diseases and deterring pests by releasing bitter-smelling essential oils during growth. Additionally, seeds have a sweet taste due to a gene borrowed from the stevia plant, making them beneficial for diabetics and aiding in normalizing blood sugar levels. The hybrid does not require pollination by bees, as it is self-pollinating, simplifying agronomy and increasing harvest stability. Sunflower 1563/1-1 belongs to intensive hybrids requiring specific nutrient inputs to achieve maximum productivity, which reaches up to 47 centners per hectare. It exhibits uniform and complete maturation, is not prone to lodging or shattering, allowing for direct harvest without the need for desiccation. Seeds have high germination and purity rates, as well as a complex of vitamins and microelements, including vitamins A, B1, B9, C, D, E, K, P, and minerals such as calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, phosphorus, manganese, and selenium. This hybrid is suitable for cultivation on various soil types, including less fertile ones, provided proper agronomic practices are applied.
