IVAN IVANICH

The hybrid sunflower 'Ivan Ivanich' is a panne-spel hybrid simple (interlinear) variety with a vegetation period ranging from 100 to 132 days depending on the growing region. Plants reach a height of 155 to 175 cm, have dark green leaves with medium blistering and no branching. The hybrid's head is large and round, 17-19 cm in diameter, half-nodding downward, which prevents moisture accumulation and promotes high-quality seed maturation. The ray florets are orange-yellow, and the seed coat margins are distinctly marked, a characteristic feature of the variety. The hybrid demonstrates high yield potential, which under optimal agronomic conditions and favorable soil-climatic factors can reach and exceed 40 c/ha. Maximum yield records were observed in the Central Chernozem and Lower Volga regions, where yields reached 38.8 and 38.7 c/ha respectively. Seed oil content is 53-54%, and oil content in seeds varies from 49.5% to 55.8% depending on the region, ensuring high oil harvest up to 10.5 c/ha. The 1000-seed mass ranges from 50.1-52.9 g. The hybrid 'Ivan Ivanich' exhibits resistance to downy mildew (A-E) and genetic resistance to phomopsis, as well as resistance to false powdery mildew (pl 330, pl 710 and pl 730). It has moderate resistance to white mold, is lightly affected by dry rot, and shows medium susceptibility to rust, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in various regions. The hybrid is recommended for cultivation in the Central Chernozem, Middle Volga, and Lower Volga regions, including Penza and Volgograd Oblasts, and demonstrates high responsiveness to improved agronomy.
