Sunflower Hornet

Sunflower hybrid Hornet is an early and versatile variety with a vegetative period of about 95-100 days. Plants reach a height of 140 to 150 centimeters, and the thousand-seed weight varies from 68 to 72 grams, indicating the hybrid's large-seed nature. Hornet is characterized by high oil content, reaching 50-54%, which ensures high efficiency in oil production.

The hybrid exhibits significant resistance to various stress factors and diseases. It is drought-tolerant, lodging-resistant, and cold-tolerant, and also shows high resistance to fungal diseases such as false powdery mildew, fusarium, rust, and sclerotinia. Special attention has been given to resistance to different races of the aphid (OR7+), making Hornet a reliable choice for regions facing problems with this pest.

Hornet is adapted for cultivation in various climatic conditions, including northern regions, and is suitable for direct seeding. Recommended seeding rates depend on regional moisture: from 60-70 thousand seeds per hectare in dry zones to 70-75 thousand in humid and irrigated areas. Thanks to its early flowering before drought onset and high yield potential of 52-53 centners per hectare, the Hornet hybrid is a profitable and reliable choice for farmers seeking a stable and high-quality sunflower crop.
