The hybrid sunflower Kharkivskiy 58 (NS-X-6045) is a high-yielding, mid-ripening variety of Serbian selection, adapted for cultivation across the entire territory of Ukraine. It features a powerful, branched root system capable of utilizing moisture from soil depths exceeding two meters, ensuring high drought resistance. This hybrid exhibits resistance to major sunflower diseases, as well as lodging and shattering, which contributes to yield retention and improved quality.
One of the key features of Kharkivskiy 58 is its dual protection: it is resistant to 7+ strains of the parasitic weed flax (A-G+) and to the herbicide Evrolighting. This enables effective control of flax and weeds without negative effects on subsequent cereal crops. The hybrid can be grown using traditional technology with soil-applied herbicides, making it a convenient and reliable choice for farmers.
The maturation period of the hybrid is 111-114 days, plant height reaches 170-190 cm. The potential yield reaches up to 58 c/ha, while average yields vary across different regions of Ukraine from 26 to 38 c/ha depending on adherence to seeding rates and cultivation practices. Oil content of the seeds ranges from 52-55%, ensuring high-quality oil. Kharkivskiy 58 is a fresh 2024 harvest and is recommended for cultivation in steppe and forest-steppe zones.
