The selection by the V. Ya. Yuriev Plant Production Institute of the NAAS focuses on creating intensive varieties capable of stable yields in the forest-steppe zone of Ukraine. Kharkivskyi 58 is a classic example of domestic genetics, combining high oil content with an adapted immunity to local phytopathogens.

Agrobiological Parameters and Resistance

The vegetation period lasts 110–120 days, placing this hybrid in the medium-early group. The plant height ranges from 170 to 190 cm, ensuring uniform distribution of vegetative mass. A key technological advantage is its resistance to imidazolinone herbicides (the Clearfield technology), which allows for effective control of the full spectrum of weeds and broomrape in the early stages of crop development.

Phytosanitary Indicators

The genetic potential of the hybrid ensures comprehensive resistance to diseases that critically reduce commercial yield:

• Downy mildew and Phomopsis: high field tolerance.
• Phoma: limited infection of the leaf apparatus.
• White and Grey rot: reliable protection of the head and stem.
