Sunflower FR 84231 is a medium-early intensive hybrid developed for conventional cultivation technology. It is characterized by stable yields up to 52 c/ha and high oil content — around 51-52%. The hybrid has a vegetation period of approximately 112-115 days and plant height of 150-160 cm, which ensures optimal conditions for achieving high yields.
One of the key features of FR 84231 is its high resistance to various diseases and pests. The hybrid exhibits resistance to 7 races of downy mildew (A-G), as well as powdery mildew, white and gray rots, fusarium, fusarium wilt, rust, alternaria, downy mildew, and septoria. This comprehensive resistance reduces the need for frequent pesticide applications, making cultivation more economical and environmentally friendly.
The hybrid is well-adapted to drought conditions and stress factors, making it ideal for cultivation in the forest-steppe and steppe regions of Ukraine. The recommended planting density prior to harvest is 55,000 — 60,000 plants per hectare. The cultivation technology involves the use of herbicides Granstar and Express, which provide effective weed control and contribute to achieving high yield potential.
