Sunflower Basalt

A stable harvest without surprises

When you head into the field with RAGT's "Bazallt," the first thing you notice is the uniformity of the crops. This is a classic French sunflower that behaves predictably, even under challenging conditions.

A phytosanitary shield

The most important aspect of working with this hybrid is its disease resistance. Over years of monitoring in trial plots and commercial fields, "Bazallt" has shown excellent resistance to key threats:

• White mold (sclerotinia) — preventing yield drops even in wet years.
• Downy mildew — a powerful immune system that minimizes the need for extra fungicide treatments.
• Phomopsis and Phoma — the hybrid holds its ground, keeping the canopy healthy until maturity.

These aren't just catalog numbers; this is peace of mind in mid-summer when other fields start failing due to disease. The plant is sturdy and holds its stalk well, so there are no issues with lodging or complications when working with the header.

Why choose it?

French RAGT breeding is known for its focus on adaptability. For the operator, this means the hybrid is forgiving of minor technological lapses. Emergence is uniform, early growth energy is high, and canopy closure happens quickly, giving weeds no chance to gain ground. During the seed-filling period, the heads function like clockwork, ensuring consistent grain weight. If you're looking for a reliable tool for predictable results that doesn't require constant hands-on monitoring from an agronomist, "Bazallt" is one of the best solutions for your crop rotation.
