BD4 04

BD4 04 is a mid-early sunflower hybrid (Helianthus annuus L.) with high yield potential and adapted for cultivation in various regions, including the Central Chernozem and Lower Volga. The vegetation period varies from 98 to 117 days depending on the region, ensuring a rapid start and early development of plants in the early stages of organogenesis. Plant height reaches 170-180 cm, and the flower head is slightly convex with a diameter of about 20 cm. The corolla color is orange-yellow, the leaves are green of medium intensity with slight blistering, and branching is absent.

The hybrid exhibits high resistance to diseases, drought, and shattering, as well as resistance to downy mildew up to F resistance level, making it a reliable choice for intensive cultivation technologies. Average yield in the Central Chernozem region is about 31.6 c/ha, and in the Lower Volga region — 18.3 c/ha, with potential yield reaching 50 c/ha when following crop rotation recommendations and weed control practices. The mass of 1000 seeds varies from 48 to 53.4 g depending on the region.

Oil content in the seeds of the hybrid is at the level of 47.7-52.5%, making BD4 04 attractive for oilseed production. The seed coat's marginal stripes are weakly expressed, and the stripes between the edges are absent or very weakly expressed, which is a characteristic feature of this hybrid. Due to its characteristics and adaptability, BD4 04 is suitable for cultivation under various climatic conditions with modern agronomic technologies.
