Sugar beet Zefir

British Genetics for High-Yield Farming

The "Zefir" sugar beet variety, developed by the British breeding company Lion Seeds (originator: Woodham Mortimer, Essex, UK), stands as a reliable solution for producers focused on achieving high tonnage. Rooted in traditional European breeding expertise, this variety has established a strong presence on the market due to its consistency and adaptability to various soil and climatic conditions.

Agronomic Profile

The defining characteristic of "Zefir" lies in its root morphology. The hybrid produces large-sized roots, which, when planted at the recommended density, ensures excellent yields per hectare. Lion Seeds' breeding program has successfully balanced significant root mass with the high quality required for efficient industrial sugar processing.

Market Position and Practical Application

Over its years on the market, "Zefir" has built a reputation as a dependable choice for farmers seeking a balance between high crop yield and ease of management. The variety demonstrates strong vigor throughout the growing season, effectively utilizing available moisture and mineral nutrition. For the agronomist, this translates into predictable results under standard protection and fertilization protocols. Given its UK origin and long-standing track record, this seed material remains a preferred choice for intensive farming regions, where maximizing output without sacrificing sugar content is the primary commercial goal.
