Fodder beet Tibor

Working with Tibor Sugar Beet

When selecting sugar beet seeds, the priority for any grower is to balance yield potential with disease resistance. The Tibor hybrid from the German breeder Strube is a reliable choice for those who prefer genetic resilience over constant fungicide applications. It is designed to perform even when pressure from rhizoctonia or cercospora is high.

Productivity and Quality Standards

Tibor belongs to the Z-type (sugar-rich) category. In practical terms, this ensures a consistent outcome: sugar content typically ranges between 16-17%. What sets this hybrid apart is the large size of the root without sacrificing its sugar density. The morphology of the roots is highly uniform, which makes mechanical harvesting much more efficient, significantly reducing loss and damage during extraction.

Operating Performance and Field Management

• Disease Tolerance: Excellent genetic resistance to rhizoctonia and cercospora protects the leaf apparatus until the end of the season.
• Mechanical Efficiency: Uniform root size simplifies the digging process and ensures cleaner delivery to the plant.
• Reliability: Predictable performance under variable weather conditions makes it a low-stress choice for professional farms.

For an agronomist, Tibor acts as a workhorse. It is forgiving of minor management mistakes, and its robust health ensures that you aren't constantly worried about your crop's state during the critical late-summer period. If you are looking for a variety that offers high sugar concentration along with the structural integrity of a large, well-formed root, Tibor is a top-tier contender in the Strube portfolio. It is well-suited for intensive farming operations that prioritize both high yield stability and a reduced need for reactive chemical protection.
