Beet sugar variety SMART LEONA KWS is characterized by high root yield and belongs to the normal-sucrose type NZ. Harvesting periods are medium and late, allowing for effective planning of harvest depending on regional climatic conditions. Roots have a technologically suitable shape, facilitating processing and improving raw material quality for further processing. The variety is intended for cultivation in region 9 and was introduced in 2022.
One of the key features of this variety is its resistance to major sugar beet diseases such as fusarium, rust, and cercospora, as well as to aphalomyces. This ensures stable yields and reduces losses under adverse weather conditions. Moreover, the variety demonstrates high productivity even in drought-prone soil-climatic conditions, making it a versatile choice for various agro-technical zones.
SMART LEONA KWS is grown using the CONVIZO® SMART system, which reduces the number of herbicide applications and lowers ecological load on the soil. The EPD (early plant growth) technology promotes rapid crop development, improving competitiveness against weeds and enhancing overall cultivation efficiency. The variety is especially recommended for fields infested with sugar beet downy mildew, thanks to its resistance and high sugar yield per hectare.
