Sugar beet of the "FD Bunker" variety is a medium-maturing, single-stem hybrid developed by French breeders of the company Florimond Depres and included in the State Register since 2019. The vegetation period is approximately 142 days. The roots have a conical shape, average depth of soil penetration (about 87%), mass of approximately 910 grams, and the above-ground part of the plant is characterized by light-green leaf and petiole color. The hybrid is distinguished by high sugar content, with sugar content in roots reaching 15.8%, ensuring efficient sugar extraction.
"FD Bunker" demonstrates high yield, especially in the Jambyl region, where the average yield reaches 681 centners per hectare, and the maximum — 779 centners per hectare. Sugar harvest in this case is approximately 109.8 centners per hectare. The hybrid is suitable for mechanized harvesting and cultivation, which simplifies agricultural processes and increases production efficiency.
A distinctive feature of this variety is its relative resistance to diseases, including absence of root rot, cercosporosis, and damage from root-eating pests, confirmed by long-term trials. It is recommended for cultivation in regions with climatic conditions similar to the Jambyl region, and it is also included in the State Register for the North Caucasus region, where it shows good yield and sugar content performance.
