The SVETLANA soy variety is a mid-early indeterminate variety with a vegetation period of 118-125 days, intended for food use. Plants are of medium height, reaching 70 to 130 cm, semi-spreading form with gray or light pubescence on the stem. Leaves are of medium size, oval in shape, dark green with a bluish tint. Flowers are purple with a pink tint. The height of attachment of the lower pod varies from 10.8 to 17.2 cm. Pods are elongated-flattened, yellow in color with dark brown coloring, resistant to cracking and shattering. Seeds are medium, light, oval, with yellow or light brown hilum, weighing from 105.6 to 141.7 g.
The variety is characterized by high yield and adaptability. Average yield in the North Caucasus region is about 13.6 c/ha, with maximum indicators up to 29.4 c/ha on individual plots. Potential yield on dryland reaches 20-35 c/ha. The variety is highly plastic, resistant to drought, lodging, brown rust, bacterial blight, and Fusarium wilt. In the Central Black Earth region, over the years of testing, no disease outbreaks were recorded, while in the North Caucasus region, only weak bacterial infection is observed.
SVETLANA is suitable for cultivation in both wide-row and continuous sowing with a sowing rate of about 50 kg/ha and a plant density of 220-250 thousand plants per hectare. Agrotechnology is standard for soybean seed production. 3 to 6 pods are formed in each fruiting node, each containing 3-4 seeds. Protein content in seeds is 35-40%, and fat content is 22-25%, making the variety attractive for the food industry and feed use.
