Soybean Odessa 150

Stable Yields in Changing Conditions

The "Odeska 150" and "Odeska 150A" varieties from the Plant Breeding and Genetics Institute are proven tools for farmers prioritizing predictability. With a growing season of 110–120 days, the crop consistently reaches its full potential. For the operator, the main advantage is the high natural resistance to downy mildew, septoria, and fusarium, which significantly reduces the pressure on sprayers and cuts down on chemical expenditure.

Economics and Oil Content

For processors and traders, grain quality is paramount. These varieties maintain a stable oil content of 21–22%. From a machinery operator's perspective, these varieties show excellent uniformity, which is critical when setting up the header for harvest: minimal losses, provided the reel speed and concave clearance are adjusted correctly, are standard for this material.

Practical Operational Recommendations

• Sowing dates: The plant is adaptable but performs best within optimal windows, allowing it to avoid extreme temperatures during the pod-filling phase.
• Harvesting equipment: The height of the lower pods is not a problem for modern flex headers, allowing for near-zero harvest losses.
• Crop protection: Given the genetic resistance to diseases, the main focus should be on pest and weed control rather than frequent fungicide applications.

This is a Ukrainian-bred seed material that fits perfectly into intensive crop rotations in steppe and forest-steppe zones, providing a comfortable balance between cultivation costs and final return on investment per hectare.
