Soybean NS VULKAN

Stable yields in challenging environments

The Serbian breeding expertise of Institut Za Ratarstvo I Povrtarstvo has been proving its value in Eastern European fields for decades. NS Vulkan soybean is the go-to choice for farmers who prioritize predictability and high phytosanitary resistance. This variety delivers excellent performance within the mid-to-late maturity segment, provided the planting window is planned strategically.

Agronomic potential and crop protection

The key advantage of NS Vulkan lies in its comprehensive genetic resistance. In regions where the risk of fungal and bacterial diseases is high, this variety effectively mitigates crop losses:

• Phytosanitary shield: Strong resistance to downy mildew (peronospora), septoria, bacteriosis, and bacteriosporosis reduces the need for frequent fungicide applications.
• Soil pathogen defense: The variety’s genetic adaptability allows it to effectively withstand fusarium and ascochyta, which is critical for farms practicing intensive crop rotation.

Practical cultivation insights

With a vegetation period of 120–130 days, this variety is classified as mid-to-late. To fully realize its yield potential, NS Vulkan should be sown in warmed soil, ensuring the crop receives an adequate amount of active temperatures. Special attention should be paid to harvesting mechanization: the height of the lower pod attachment is 12–14 cm. This metric is considered optimal as it allows for the use of headers with minimal losses during low cutting, which is vital for maximizing gross yield per hectare.

By choosing this variety, farmers gain a reliable tool for maintaining stable margins, even during seasons with high infectious pressure.
