Pochatok

Pochatok is a high-oil, early-maturing sunflower hybrid recommended for cultivation in the Forest-Steppe and Steppe regions. The vegetation period ranges from 108 to 115 days depending on the region, allowing for harvest at optimal times. The plant reaches a height of about 170 cm, and the flower head diameter is approximately 19 cm. The oil content of mature seeds is at 50–51%, ensuring high efficiency in processing. Seed moisture content varies from 19 to 21%, which also facilitates processing and storage of the harvest. The hybrid demonstrates high adaptability to various growing conditions and ecological plasticity, making it resistant to stress factors and diseases. Resistance levels to rust, white and gray rot, charcoal rot, and fusarium are rated 8–9 on the scale, significantly reducing the risk of yield losses. Additionally, the hybrid is well-suited for mechanical harvesting, simplifying agronomic operations and increasing overall production profitability. The recommended plant density per hectare is 55–65 thousand depending on the region. Pochatok is an excellent choice for inclusion in crop rotation, especially in areas where other varieties do not mature in time. Its early maturity allows the hybrid to be used for obtaining additional yields during the season, for example, after barley or pea harvest.
