Soy variety 'Duet' is a mid-early variety bred by scientists of the Belgorod State Agricultural University. It is characterized by a vegetation period of about 113 days and high yield, reaching up to 45 centners per hectare. The weight of 1000 seeds is approximately 151 g, and the protein content in seeds ranges from 39.2% to 44%, which exceeds the indicators of many other varieties. Fat content in seeds reaches 21.8–25%, making this variety particularly valuable for oil and meal production. Moreover, 'Duet' is distinguished by its resistance to adverse weather conditions such as cooling, drought, and heat, as well as good mechanical strength: seeds do not crack and are weakly damaged during harvesting.
The 'Duet' variety is recommended for cultivation in the Central-Black Earth and Middle-Volga regions, where it demonstrates stable high yield indicators. To increase soil fertility and improve crop quality, the use of phosphogypsum at a dosage of 3 t/ha during pre-sowing cultivation is recommended. Studies have shown that the application of phosphogypsum contributes to increased yield and improved seed quality, especially when combined with a water-saving irrigation regime and no-till soil treatment.
Thus, the soy variety 'Duet' is a promising choice for farmers seeking to obtain a high-quality and high-yield product. Its high oiliness and protein content make it in demand for the food and oilseed industries, while resistance to climate stress ensures reliable cultivation in various conditions.
