SPOKEIN is a high-yield spinach hybrid of universal purpose, of Dutch selection, intended for growing in spring and summer. The leaf rosette is semi-vertical, 10-15 cm high and 6-11 cm wide, consisting of 6-10 large oval-shaped leaves of light green color with a finely wavy leaf blade. The petiole is of medium length and thickness; the mass of one plant is 25-40 grams. The hybrid's vegetative period is medium-early and lasts about 65 days, which allows for harvesting in different seasons.
The SPOKEIN hybrid is distinguished by high yield — from 2.3 to 3.1 kg per square meter. It is resistant to downy mildew and cucumber mosaic virus, and also features later bolting, which extends the period of leaf usage. Thanks to these qualities, the spinach is suitable for both fresh consumption and freezing, preserving its beneficial properties and attractive appearance.
For successful growing, it is recommended to sow seeds early in spring and summer, including in July, with a sowing depth of 2-3 cm. Before sowing, seeds should be soaked for a day with periodic water change. The sowing rate is 2.5-3.0 g per square meter. For early production, spinach can be sown in greenhouses as a filler for other crops. The plant is demanding regarding soil, so predecessors should be crops that received manure. Care for spinach involves loosening, weeding, watering, and, if necessary, fertilizing with complex fertilizers.
