Apollo Spinach F1 is a mid-season hybrid of Japanese selection intended for growing in open ground, greenhouses, cold frames, and even on balcony beds. This variety is characterized by high cold hardiness, allowing plants to be planted at temperatures from +4 to +5°C. Optimal conditions for spinach growth are temperatures from +20 to +25°C. The crop is adapted to various climatic conditions and can be grown in any region of the country from early March to June. During this period, dry spells require careful care to maintain yield.
The plant forms a compact raised rosette 20-30 cm high with a leaf mass of up to 20 g. Apollo spinach leaves are dense, oval-round in shape with a slight crinkling and a rich green color. Such greens are rich in fiber, vitamins, minerals, and amino acids, making them beneficial for fresh consumption. Additionally, spinach retains its healing properties when frozen, which expands its use in cooking and the food industry.
The Apollo F1 hybrid is characterized by high yield — from 1.8 to 2.5 kg per square meter, late bolting, and resistance to powdery mildew. These qualities ensure excellent marketability of the product and make the variety in demand for the fresh vegetable market, processing, and freezing. High growth vigor and disease resistance allow for an early harvest as soon as 30-45 days after sowing, which is especially valuable for spring and autumn cultivation.
