Turnip Rape SC 3309

Field Performance of the Spring Turnip Rape SK 3309

Working with the SK 3309 variety from Ooo Fagopirum, you quickly realize it is a reliable choice for oilseed production. Standing at 70–90 cm, this spring-type variety is well-balanced; it is robust enough to yield consistently but sturdy enough to avoid lodging, which is a major advantage during harvest. Aiming for a potential yield of 20–25 centners per hectare is realistic if standard agronomic practices are followed.

Fitosanitary Resilience

The standout feature of SK 3309 is its genetic resistance to downy mildew (peronosporosis). In practical terms, this leads to significant savings on fungicide applications. Being less dependent on intensive chemical protection reduces fuel consumption and machinery maintenance costs throughout the season. The variety also shows strong defenses against other common threats:

• Broad Protection: High resistance against alternaria and phoma leaf spots.
• Root System Health: Effective tolerance to root rots and damping-off (black leg) ensures a uniform stand establishment even in challenging soil conditions.
• Oil Quality: By preventing fungal damage, the variety ensures a higher quality of seed, which is essential for processing plants focused on oil extraction.

Growing and Maintenance

Developed by Fagopirum, this variety is tailored for oil production. As a spring-sown crop, it responds well to moisture availability in the early growth stages. Its growth habit promotes a dense canopy, which naturally suppresses weeds, reducing the need for aggressive herbicide applications. For operators looking for a straightforward, high-performing crop that fits well into a professional rotation, SK 3309 is a dependable partner that minimizes the stress of seasonal crop management.
