ZARYA is a Type 00 erucic-acid-free and low-glucosinolate rape variety, maturing 12-14 days earlier than the winter rape Severyanin. The entire vegetation period from full emergence to harvest maturity is 303-308 days, making it convenient for planning agro-technical measures.
The key feature of ZARYA is the high fat content in seeds – 46-48% (approximately 47%), while the glucosinolate level remains low at only 12-15 µmol/g. This makes the variety especially valuable for producing edible oil and biofuel, and increases its fodder value due to reduced fiber content.
Seed yield reaches 32.9 t/ha, and green mass yield is 228 t/ha. The mass of 1000 seeds is about 5 g, which corresponds to the average indicator for winter rapeseeds. The variety demonstrates moderate resistance to powdery mildew and Alternaria, and is not prone to flowering formation when sown in spring, ensuring more uniform growth and simplifying harvest.
ZARYA is suitable both for oil production and for use as a fodder crop or green manure. Its high fat content and low level of glucosinolates make it in demand in the food and biofuel markets, while maintaining high productivity and resistance to major pathogens.
