Description ALYONA
Rapeseed spring «Alyona» is a perennial plant that combines the properties of a fodder, siderate, and nectar-producing crop. It germinates quickly at temperatures of 18–20 °C, and the optimal sowing depth is 0.5 cm. In the first year of life, a rosette of leaves with a well-developed taproot is formed, which survives the winter, after which each spring cycle begins with a new flowering and fruiting stem.

The crop is distinguished by high seed yield – up to 10 thousand pieces per hectare. The mass of 1000 seeds ranges from 2.5 to 2.9 g, the fat content in seeds reaches 49.2%, which ensures a gross oil yield of about 8.71 c/ha. Seeds are predominantly yellow (97%) and are suitable for the production of edible oil. The plant is resistant to lodging, shedding, and drought, and is also protected against a number of diseases: black leg, root bacterial infection, phoma, alternaria, and downy mildew.

«Alyona» demonstrates excellent properties as a fodder crop – after decomposition, the biomass becomes easily digestible fertilizer, enriching the soil with nutrients and improving its structure. In addition, the plant is a good nectar source: nectar productivity ranges from 0.5 to 1.5 kg per hundred square meters, and pollen attracts bees throughout the day. Thanks to these characteristics, rapeseed «Alyona» is suitable both for the production of edible oil and for improving soil fertility, providing animal feed, and supporting biodiversity.
