Megaton F1

Megaton F1 corn is a mid-late maturity SH2 type sweet corn hybrid developed by the American company Harris Moran. The vegetation period is approximately 84-85 days, allowing harvest during summer and autumn. The plant is characterized by significant height — from 210 to 250 cm, with a strong root system and sturdy stalk, ensuring resistance to lodging and enabling cultivation in various climatic conditions. Megaton F1 forms uniform cylindrical ears, 24-30 cm long and 5-5.5 cm in diameter, with 18-20 rows of large, bright yellow kernels that are tightly packed in the ear.

This hybrid is renowned for its high yield — up to 270 centners per hectare, with an ear yield of 170% and clean grain yield of 33%. The grain contains 25-28% dry matter, ensuring prolonged preservation of flavor and high sugar content. Thanks to the dense dark green 'husk' of the ears, they are well protected from pests and adverse external factors, contributing to stable yields and long-term storage without loss of juiciness and flavor. Megaton F1 is ideal for both fresh consumption and processing and canning.

The hybrid is resistant to several diseases, including helminthosporiosis, corn mosaic virus, bacterial wilting, powdery mildew, and fusarium.
