For sowing, it is recommended to use seeds soaked for a day in water, planted at a depth of 4-8 cm in open ground after the threat of recurrent frosts and when soil temperature reaches 10°C. The optimal planting scheme is 45×45 cm. The crop is demanding for moisture and light, responds well to the application of organic or mineral fertilizers before sowing.
