The 'Pallada' winter rye is the result of the breeding efforts by the Volyn Institute of Agro-Industrial Production of the NAAS. The variety is built on a strategy of creating a high-yielding agro-ecosystem capable of mitigating soil moisture deficits. Breeders have focused on stem architecture and tillering physiology, enabling the variety to maintain consistency across regions with a temperate continental climate.

• Tillering capacity: The core technical component of the variety. The genetically inherent ability to actively form productive stems allows for reduced seeding rates without sacrificing stand density. This is critical for achieving a uniform crop stand.
• Stress resistance: The breeding program for 'Pallada' considered the specific characteristics of Ukrainian chernozem and sod-podzolic soils. The variety features an adaptation mechanism for low temperatures during overwintering and increased resistance to major fungal pathogens, which reduces the need for intensive fungicide application in the early stages.
• Harvesting technology: Uniform ear ripening minimizes losses during combining. The lodging resistance, engineered through straw structural strength, allows for the use of high-capacity machinery at increased field speeds.
