Rose Tan00163

Working with the shrub rose Tan00163

When choosing roses for the garden, Rosen-Tantau Mathias Tantau Nachfolger is synonymous with German reliability. Tan00163 is a shrub rose that requires minimal effort while delivering maximum visual impact. Over the course of maintaining this hybrid, one thing became clear: its main advantage lies not only in its vibrant orange hue but also in its predictable growth pattern.

Maintenance and Disease Resistance

The immunity of this model is top-tier. Powdery mildew, which often plagues neighboring varieties, keeps its distance from Tan00163 even in rainy summers. This significantly saves on fungicide costs and labor time. The bush is compact, growing to 60-80 cm, making it perfect for both standalone planting and border arrangements along pathways.

Blooming and Care

• The semi-double flowers are 5-7 cm in size. They are not overloaded with petals, allowing them to dry out quickly after rain, which prevents rot.
• The bright orange color does not fade in the sun, maintaining its intensity until late autumn.
• Pruning is standard for shrub roses; the bush keeps its shape well and doesn't get floppy, eliminating the need for extra supports.

For the gardener, this is a hassle-free option: moderate watering, basic fertilization, and preventive pruning make up the entire maintenance schedule. Tan00163 performs like a "workhorse," consistently producing new buds throughout the entire growing season.
