Rose Schiallo

Elegant Durability: The Cхіалло Rose by Piet Schreurs Holding

In the world of professional floriculture, Dutch breeding has long been synonymous with predictable quality. The Cхіалло variety, introduced by Piet Schreurs Holding, is a testament to functional shrub roses that shatter the myth that beautiful flowers must be temperamental. The primary advantage of this hybrid lies in its perfect balance between the aesthetics of an 'English' bloom and the resilience of a commercial variety.

Characteristics and Appearance

Cхіалло is a rose optimized for cut flower production, which implies high petal density and remarkable vase life. The fully double flowers, measuring 5–7 cm, feature soft gradients of pink and cream. This bicolor palette provides depth to the plant, ensuring the bush doesn't disappear into the green background but rather 'glows' with contrast.

• Dimensions: The bush grows 80–120 cm tall and up to 1 meter wide. This makes it an excellent candidate for hedges or dense garden borders.
• Climatic Adaptation: The rated frost resistance of up to -35°C is not merely a marketing claim but a result of rigorous selection by Dutch experts. The rose withstands harsh winters successfully and recovers quickly in the spring.
• Health: Its high disease resistance saves the owner from the need for weekly fungicide treatments, a feature especially valued in private rose gardens.

Who is this variety for?

If you are looking for a reliable 'workhorse' for bouquets, Cхіалло will meet your expectations 100%. It is the ideal choice for those wanting a personal source of floristic material without spending every spare moment fighting powdery mildew or black spot. The blooming period covers the entire summer, ensuring a consistent supply of buds.

A minor drawback of this variety is the requirement for annual formative pruning, as the abundance of foliage and dense growth habit can lead to overcrowding without proper maintenance. However, with basic care, Cхіалло remains one of the most dependable and long-lasting additions to your landscape.
