Rose Schapjus

A Resilient Park Rose from the Netherlands

If you are looking for a variety that doesn't demand constant attention but still sets the tone for your entire landscape, Schapjus from Piet Schreurs Holding is a reliable choice. This rose is a true workhorse for landscaping. With a bush height of 120 to 200 cm, it fits perfectly into the structure of park areas, creating dense, vertically oriented masses.

Operation and Maintenance

Unlike finicky hybrid tea varieties, Schapjus demonstrates enviable stability. When planting, it is important to consider the dimensions of the mature plant: leave enough space for airflow to avoid typical humidity-related issues. The root system from the originator, Schreurs, is adapted to European standards, ensuring confident establishment in local soil conditions, provided that basic drainage rules are met.

• Flowering: Profuse, lasting all summer. The spherical buds, 7–10 cm in diameter, maintain their shape even during temperature fluctuations.
• Maintenance: Requires minimal pruning. Thanks to its park-rose nature, the variety maintains its vertical form well, without sagging under the weight of the blooms.
• Usage: Ideal for creating hedges or large-scale flower beds where visual density and long-term effect are required.

For the gardener, Schapjus is convenient because it does not require complex staking; the bush is self-supporting. This is a choice for those who value Dutch breeding for its predictability and capacity for prolonged blooming without the need for constant recovery after rainy spells.
