Luna

The Luna turnip is a mid-late variety with a maturation period of 65 to 80 days from germination to harvest. The root is round, yellow in color, with a thin, smooth, and delicate skin. The flesh is dense, juicy, and tender, possessing excellent taste qualities. The root mass varies from 130 to 240 grams, and the yield reaches 2.0–2.3 kg per square meter. The variety is characterized by a stable and uniform yield, cold hardiness, and uniformity of roots, making it particularly attractive for autumn-winter cultivation for fresh consumption.

The agronomy of growing Luna turnip includes sowing from April to July at a depth of 1–2 cm, with a distance between plants of 8–15 cm and rows of 22–30 cm. The plant prefers fertile sandy loam and loam soils. After the appearance of 3–4 true leaves, seedlings are thinned to ensure optimal space. Plant care includes regular watering, loosening of inter-row spaces, and weeding, which promotes good development and high yield.

Luna turnip leaves have a semi-erect rosette, green in color, with a slightly curved tip and weak waviness of the edge.
