Rapeseed VEGA TM

Stability and Plasticity for Autumn Sowing

Winter rapeseed "Vega TM" from the breeding and seed company "Sk Astra" represents a classic solution for farmers focused on predictable results in temperate climates. The key feature of this hybrid is its adaptability to various soil types, making it a reliable choice for operations that prioritize consistency over highly specialized intensive farming methods.

Biological Parameters

The plant possesses a balanced habit. Under standard agronomic conditions, the stem height varies between 100 and 120 cm. This height is no coincidence: it ensures optimal sowing density and facilitates mechanized harvesting, minimizing seed loss. Moderate stem growth contributes to successful overwintering, as the growth point is not elevated too far above the soil level.

Strengths and Considerations

• High early vigor, which is critical for successful winter establishment.
• Strong lodging resistance, simplifying combine operations even under challenging weather conditions at the end of the season.
• Good responsiveness to micronutrient application, allowing for potential yield maximization when following fertilization protocols.

The trade-off for this hybrid, common to many varieties of this type, is the need for strict phytosanitary monitoring during the spring period. "Vega TM" requires timely fungicide treatment, as dense stands can be susceptible to fungal infections. This rapeseed is optimal for mid-sized agricultural enterprises where yield stability and resistance to climatic stress are essential, while maintaining manageable costs for intensive cultivation technologies.
