Solo

Solo is an early-maturing, high-yielding winter rapeseed variety developed by domestic breeders from the Institute of Oilseed Crops. It is characterized by lower seed weight compared to most known varieties, which facilitates transportation. The variety is typically grown in the steppe zone, Polissya, and Volhynia, demonstrating high adaptability to various climatic conditions. Plant height reaches 173 cm, with potential yields up to 5.5 tons per hectare, and seed yield ranging from 3.6 to 4.5 tons per hectare. The seed bag weight is 25 kg, and oil content in the seeds ranges from 46–48%. The maximum level of glucosinolates does not exceed 20 μmol/g, indicating product safety. The Solo variety possesses several advantages, including high cold, pest, and disease resistance, as well as resistance to seed cracking and shattering. Thanks to these qualities, the variety is suitable for mechanized cultivation and ensures stable vegetative mass growth. Additionally, the variety contains no erucic acid, which is harmful to humans, making it safe for use in the food industry. The use of innovative agronomic techniques can significantly increase yield, sometimes exceeding average levels by 1.5 times. The Solo variety is recommended for planting in various agroclimatic zones of Ukraine, including the steppe zone, Polissya, and Volhynia. Its high adaptability and resistance to adverse conditions make it a profitable choice for farmers aiming to obtain high-quality and high-yield rapeseed. Thanks to its characteristics and advantages, this variety represents a promising option for modern agriculture.
